There is something wrong with this world. Blogs are being blocked. Bloggers are being thrown into jail. Whether your blog is good or bad for the internet and its users, whether your thoughts - personal or propaganda... everything depends on the point of view. Today, I found myself being attacked... for I spoke about the grace of life and kindness. If kindness and goodness is only something you share with your group/sect/herd/religion - then what's the point of living under this sky? When George Bush said, "either you are with us or you are against us", he was parading his ignorance at a world stage. He was also parading the soul-less self, telling us he is scared of the 'other man'. To many, a life without an enemy is almost impossible. Bush is that kind of a man. The 2004 Sydney Peace Prize lecture delivered by Arundhati Roy, at the Seymour Theatre Centre, University of Sydney. Peace & The New Corporate Liberation Theology It's official now. The Sydney Peace Foundation is neck deep in the business of gambling and calculated risk. Last year, very courageously, it chose Dr Hanan Ashrawi of Palestine for the Sydney Peace Prize. And, as if that were not enough, this year - of all the people in the world - it goes and chooses me! However I'd like to make a complaint. My sources inform me that Dr Ashrawi had a picket all to herself. This is discriminatory. I demand equal treatment for all Peace Prizees. May I formally request the Foundation to organize a picket against me after the lecture? From what I've heard, it shouldn't be hard to organize. Remembering Cait Collins

MS_allthat I was in tears today - and I wept like a little kid. Caity will always remain to be a special person to me. Way back in 1999 November, I met Caity in VP (excite poetry cafe), she used to be a regular there as MS_allthat. Caity also was the Editor of www.the-hold.com - an ezine which was filled with Cait's energy. When I was struggling with my life as a Travel Consultant - Caity taught me the basic HTML stuff - and how to build websites. She urged me to take up writing as a career. Whatever a writer or a journalist I am today - it is all because of what Caity saw in me. I'll never let her down. Cait always had very kind and inspiring words for me. She used to tell me, "kid, get a raft, and row away to freedom." That was Caity - one who really believed in being positive.
